The At the invitation of Prof. Yuliang Feng from Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology, Dr. Yan. Zhang, a professor at the Cardiovascular Institute of Peking University, holds the position of Principal Investigator (PI) for the National Key Laboratory of Vascular Homeostasis and Remodeling, gave a lecture titled --A Tale of CaMKII and Its Partners’ at the Learning Studio (2nd floor, Lynn Library). The lecture presented that CaMKII is the key point in regulating cardiomyocyte death induced by various insults, and targeting CaMKII-mediated cardiomyocyte necroptosis could be crucial in the treatment of cardiac diseases related to cardiomyocyte death.
The "International Symposium on Cardiac Homeostasis and Translational Science" was successfully held from October 20-21, 2025, at the School of Medicine and the Institute of Homeostasis Medicine at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). The conference brought together prominent scholars from around the world to discuss advancements in myocardial metabolism, gene regulation, developmental regeneration, and vascular remodeling. Participants shared their latest research findings and insights in these cutting-edge fields. Professor Feng delivered a keynote presentation titled "3D Genome Regulation in Cardiovascular Disease."

Cheng, a dual-recruited researcher from Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Institute of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, gave a lecture titled ‘Engineering towards smart gene Engineering towards smart gene therapeutics’ in the Lecture Hall 301 of Yidan Library.
Our team travelled to Sanya, Hainan to participate in the 11th International Symposium on 3D Genomics for four days, where postdoc Liuyang Cai gave a presentation in the Youth Forum and won the second prize for Outstanding Youth Presentation.
The inaugural meeting and the first academic conference of the Pan-Vascular Disease Specialized Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association were successfully held. Yuliang Feng was appointed as the vice-chairman of the Pan-Vascular Specialized Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association.
