At the invitation of Prof. Yuliang Feng from Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology, Prof. Yigang. Wang, the Director of the Division of Regenerative Medicine and a Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, gave a lecture titled ‘New strategies for myocardial infarction repair’ in the Room 405, SUSTech Convention Centre. The lecture presented a dual strategy for myocardial repair using a tri-cell patch with hydrogel for epicardial regeneration and CRISPRa-based reprogramming of fibroblasts for internal repair. It highlighted the therapeutic potential of combining external support with internal cell conversion to restore heart function.

At the invitation of Prof. Yuliang Feng from Department of Pharmacology, School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology, Prof. Albert W. Cheng, a dual-recruited researcher from Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Institute of Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine, gave a lecture titled ‘Engineering towards smart gene Engineering towards smart gene therapeutics’ in the Lecture Hall 301 of Yidan Library.

Our team travelled to Sanya, Hainan to participate in the 11th International Symposium on 3D Genomics for four days, where postdoc Liuyang Cai gave a presentation in the Youth Forum and won the second prize for Outstanding Youth Presentation.

The inaugural meeting and the first academic conference of the Pan-Vascular Disease Specialized Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association were successfully held. Yuliang Feng was appointed as the vice-chairman of the Pan-Vascular Specialized Committee of Guangdong Medical Education Association.
